A smiling former President Joe Biden posted to social media this morning that his cancer diagnosis won’t break him.

“Cancer touches us all,” he tweeted. “Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”

He attached a photo of himself with his wife and their pet cat — he’s smiling, she is not. He posted the update to X, Instagram and Facebook.

The comments urged Biden to “keep fighting” while others celebrated his “grace” in the face of cancer. Still, the political digs are peppered in the string.

Everyone mostly agrees the news of Biden’s prostate cancer is an “aggressive” form.

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” his office said, according to the Associated Press. “The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians.”

Prostate cancers are graded for aggressiveness using what’s known as a Gleason score. The scores range from 6 to 10, with 8, 9 and 10 prostate cancers behaving more aggressively. Biden’s office said his score was 9, suggesting his cancer is among the most aggressive, AP added.
