Lucas: A lame-duck Biden is no match for Hamas

If lame-duck President Joe Biden is going after Hamas terrorists who kill Americans the way he goes after increasingly aggressive pro Hamas demonstrators, then Hamas has nothing to worry about.

When it comes to killing terrorists who murder Americans, Joe Biden is no Donald Trump.

Nor is Biden much of a leader when it comes to cracking down on the pro-Hamas, Nazi-like campaign against the Jews in college campuses and elsewhere across the country.

And Vice President Kamala Harris is not much better.

Both talk tough on supporting Israel while giving a wink and a nod to supporters of Hamas.

Had Biden been a Trump-like president, he would have taken out Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar long ago, the way Trump used to do with terrorist leaders, instead of merely filing criminal charges against him in a New York federal court.

Sinwar is the Hamas mastermind behind the Oct. 7 murderous Hamas terrorist rampage that killed 1200 Israelis in the most brutal fashion and set off the Israeli/Hamas War.

Among those killed were 40 Americans while at least eight more American citizens were kidnapped and remain prisoners in tunnels in Gaza, if they are still alive.

Biden has done nothing to rescue them other than to call for a cease fire and hope the Israeli military will do the rescuing for him.

One of the American hostages, Hersh Goldberg-Polin, 23, was among the six found dead last week after they were executed by Hamas terrorists as Israeli forces were closing in to free them.

Biden, who was “devastated and outraged” by Goldberg-Polin’s murder, said, “Make no mistake, Hamas leaders will pay for these crimes.” If so, it will be for the first time.

Hardly had the “outraged” president spoken then Attorney General Merrick Garland promised to bring Sinwar to court rather than Biden firing a couple of Hellfire missiles to kill him.

“These actions will not be our last,” Garland warned weakly, as Hamas trembled.

What a joke.

Trump would have taken Sinwar out like he killed Gen. Qassem Soleiman, head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, outside the Baghdad airport with a couple of missiles in 2020, or terrorist leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi in Syria in 2019.  “He died like a dog,” Trump said.

While Biden turned over $6 billion in ransom money to the Iranians for the release of five American hostages, Trump bragged that his administration  won the release of 58 hostages from several countries, including North Korea, without paying a dime.

“Once you pay, you always pay, and many more hostages will be taken,” Trump said.

What makes Biden look even weaker—and Harris by extension—is implying that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is at fault for the latest executions for allegedly not doing enough to bring about a cease fire.

Implicit in this is Biden’s belief that there is a moral equivalency between Israel, an established democracy, and Hamas, a terrorist proxy of Iran.

What is worse is that the leaders in Iran, who support Hamas as well as other Jewish hating terrorist groups like Hezbollah and the Houthis, know that Biden will not take any serious military action against them.

The Iranians have his number, even more so now that he is a lame-duck president with cognitive issues.

They know he will not use force to rescue the Americans held hostage by Hamas no matter his threats.

They also know he will pay for their release, one way or another, if the hostages are still alive, that is. One way to rescue them is to fork over billions of dollars. The other way is to get Israel to agree to a cease fire so that Hamas can rebuild. Either way Hamas wins.

Sen. Lindsay Graham of South Carolina has a third way, however. And that is Trump.

“When Donald Trump is in office these hostages will come home,” Graham said. “Donald Trump is on the way.”
