Patriots extra points: Throwback uniform schedule for 2024 announced

FOXBORO — For the third straight season, the Patriots will don their beloved red throwbacks for two home games at Gillette Stadium.

The team on Wednesday announced the dates for its two 2024 throwback games. New England will rock its Pat Patriot unis in Week 8 against the Houston Texans (Oct. 13) and Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts (Dec. 1).

The Patriots haven’t had much success in their vintage threads of late, losing each of their last three games in them. Before that swoon, they were 10-3 in the alternate set, which was shelved for a decade due to NFL helmet regulations before returning in 2022.

Extra points

Safety Jabrill Peppers sported a silver wrap with a Flying Elvis logo over his Guardian cap during Wednesday’s practice. That could mean Peppers is considering wearing the cap in games, which the NFL now allows. … Defensive tackle Christian Barmore, who has been sidelined with blood clots since late July, made an appearance in the locker room. His recovery timetable remains unclear, but the team left open the possibility of him returning after four games. … On top of his seemingly endless list of new media jobs, Bill Belichick is trying his hand at social media, as well. The former Patriots head coach officially joined Instagram on Wednesday. “I am (surprisingly) thrilled to announce my decision to utilize social media platforms with the intention of interacting directly with fans and the public,” Belichick wrote. “… Follow me, @BillBelichick on InstaFace!!”
