Gov. Tim Walz to attend Minnesota State Fair on Sunday during a break in campaign stops

Gov. Tim Walz has said he will be at the Minnesota State Fair on Sunday.

Walz has been on the campaign trail with Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate, in recent weeks. He mentioned his plans to attend the Great Minnesota Get-Together at the end of a campaign speech Friday night in Virginia, as first reported by CBS and FOX KMSP Ch. 9. He has not announced a specific schedule.

Sixteen days after Joe Biden announced he was dropping out of the race for the White House and endorsed Harris as the Democratic candidate, Harris picked Walz as her running mate, and his campaign obligations prevented him from visiting the Fair earlier.

Since Walz was named to the Harris campaign, his past posts have been circulating online, including some of his visits to the Fair, like a picture of the governor smiling and holding a piglet, and a video of him discussing the Ye Old Mill and Slingshot fair rides with his daughter Hope last year.
