Boston police seek public’s help after breaking and entering, plus Mossberg firearm seized

City detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects reportedly involved in a breaking and entering this week in Roxbury.

The B&E occurred Monday between 2 a.m. to 7 a.m. in the area of 19 Clarence Street, the site of a row of neatly painted triple-deckers.

Child porn charge

Detectives assigned to the Crimes Against Children Unit arrested Gardner Moore, 41, of Hyde Park, for possession of child pornography, police said.

Detectives were conducting an ongoing investigation and execution of a search warrant in the area of 50 Thatcher Street when they arrested Moore, BPD said.

Loaded gun at a traffic stop

Mandell Johnson, 31, of Newton was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, and defacement of a firearm serial number after police said they pulled the car he was a passenger in over Quincy Street near Blue Hill Avenue.

Police said the driver was operating the vehicle “recklessly.”

After patting him down, Johnson was accused of carrying a Mossberg MC1-SC “with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine.” The firearm’s serial number was also removed, BPD added.
