Boston Police: 2 men shot, 1 fatally, in Dorchester home
Two men were shot, one fatally, inside a Dorchester home on Monday evening, Boston Police said.
Police responded to a report of a shooting at 5 Trent St. at approximately 6:36 p.m. and found two men suffering from gunshot wounds, Deputy Superintendent Paul McLaughlin said.
Both men were taken to a local hospital, where one of the victims was pronounced dead. The other man’s injuries are classified as “non-fatal,” McLaughlin said.
“At this time, we’re still very early in the investigation,” McLaughlin said. “We’re trying to determine the facts and circumstances. We have a canvas going on in the neighborhood for video and witnesses.”
No arrests have been made, and information is scarce on potential suspects, but police said there is likely more than one suspect who was involved in the shooting.
Whether the victims and suspects had a prior relationship is also unclear, McLaughlin said, citing the early status of the investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information or video footage related to the incident to contact the BPD Homicide Unit at 617-343-4470 or the CrimeStoppers tip line at 1-800-494-TIPS.
