Patriots’ rotating offensive line receives rave reviews from Jacoby Brissett

FOXBORO — The Patriots’ starting offensive line is still to be determined, but the unit has a big fan in its current starting quarterback.

Jacoby Brissett gave a glowing review of his blockers Friday afternoon after the offense’s best day of training camp.

“Man, I think they’ve been doing a great job. They’ve gotten better each and every day,” Brissett said. “The thing is, we’re moving a lot of the guys around to see where guys are going to be at, but they go out there, they play hard. They’re taking the coaching from individuals to the team, and I think it’s paying dividends. I think Scott is doing a great job with those guys. I think the good thing about it is those guys are tied in with each other. They’re picking each other up when they need a break and need that confidence booster, but they’re doing a really good job out there and giving me time back there. All of us, I think they’re giving a lot of guys back there time to push the ball down the field and make the right throws.”

The Patriots’ top interior offensive line has been constant with Sidy Sow at left guard, David Andrews at center and Mike Onwenu at right guard. But the tackles have been rotating with Chukwuma Okorafor starting out at left tackle before being moved to the right side. That’s given way for Caedan Wallace and Vederian Lowe to get top reps at left tackle. Before Okorafor moved, Lowe and Calvin Anderson saw top snaps at right tackle.

The Patriots have seen fewer pre-snap issues in recent practices. The O-line also allowed fewer pressures in Friday’s practice.

Head coach Jerod Mayo said he’d like to get the starting line settled going into the third preseason game on Aug. 25.
