Bruins, Flyers make minor league swap
The Bruins made their first trade of the deadline day, swapping minor leaguers with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Forward Brett Harrison, a 2021 third round pick, and Jackson Edward, a 2022 seventh rounder, will be headed to the Flyers’ organization for forwards Alexis Gendron, a ‘22 seventh rounder, and Massimo Rizzo, a ‘19 seventh rounder originally draftee by Carolina.
The 5-11, 189-pound Gendron has 35-22-57 in 127 AHL games with Lehigh Valley. The 5-11, 174-pound Rizzo, who played three years at the University of Denver, was playing for the Reading Royals (ECHL) and had 6-16-22 in 29 games. Last season he had 6-12-18 in 46 games with Lehigh Valley.
Harrison had 19-30-49 totals in 140 AHL games. Edward, who has been playing with the Maine Mariners this season, had 1-6-7 in 40 AHL games.
