Boston Police Blotter: Teens arrested in break-in, Boylston thefts

Three teens were arrested for allegedly breaking into a condo in Dorchester early Tuesday morning.

Boston Police said they responded to a residence on Bellevue St. around 4 a.m. When they arrived, they saw two males inside the apartment, police said, but when the suspects saw the officers, they fled through the back of the building.

Both were apprehended by police on the first floor landing of the building.

While searching the condo, officers noticed that the rear door was off its hinges and they saw a pair of discarded sneakers and a jacket.

As they placed the two juveniles in a cruiser, officers were approached by a teen girl who wasn’t wearing shoes or a jacket.

“After further investigation, officers determined that the female was also involved in the breaking and entering,” BPD said in a statement.

The 14- and 15-year-old boys and the 14-year-old girl were all charged with felony breaking and entering into a building at nighttime, malicious destruction of property over $1,200, and trespassing.

They are expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.

Police said Jason Johnson, of Wenham, stole the phone around 10:45 p.m., while wearing a ski mask, then ran out of the store and down Boylston St.

Officers were able to catch up to Johnson, who they detained. In addition to recovering the employee’s phone, they said they also found four plastic bags of cocaine in the suspect’s pocket.

Johnson was charged with unarmed robbery and possession of a Class B drug. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.

Police looking to ID shoplifting suspects
