Boston Police Blotter: Officers recover cocaine, fentanyl in drug busts

Boston Police seized over 200 grams of drugs during search warrants in Mattapan last month.

Officers said that they stopped Michael Browne, 58, of Brookline, while he was driving on Capen Street in Mattapan and told him they had multiple search warrants.

During a search of his car, officers recovered 19 grams of crack cocaine and almost $2,000, according to BPD. During a subsequent search warrant at 157 Delhi St., police said they found an additional 130 grams of crack, 80 grams of fentanyl, 165 Suboxone strips, three vials of liquid methadone, digital scales, as well as other drug manufacturing material.

Police arrested Brown and charged him with trafficking Class A and Class B drugs.

He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Drugs seized in Dorchester

BPD’s Citywide Drug Control Unit also recovered 30 grams of drugs in a Dorchester search warrant at the end of January.

Officers arrested Juan Romero, 31, of Dorchester, on multiple drug charges.

During a search warrant of 174 Hamilton St., police said they found 8 grams of fentanyl, 23 grams of crack, a digital scale, and about $1,600.

Romero was arrested after the search warrant was executed and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on trafficking a Class B drug and two counts of possession with intent to distribute Class A and Class B drugs.

Incident Summary

BPD responded to 183 incidents in the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. Monday, according to the department’s incident log. Those included three aggravated assaults, one residential burglary, 12 miscellaneous larcenies, and one auto theft.

All of the below-named defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

— Shameeka Hollins, 147 Hancock St., Dorchester. Trespassing.

— Jose Paulino, 400 West Broadway, South Boston. Receiving less than $1,200 of stolen property.

— Mark Flynn 27 Hovey St., Quincy. Operating under the influence of liquor.

— Tony Boston, 146 Georgetowne Pl., Hyde Park. Reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

— Zarneaja Frazier-Moten, 153 Pleasant St., Dorchester. Shoplifting by concealing merchandise.

— Jose Diaz Sanches, 72 Walnut Park, Roxbury. Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
