High school roundup/scores: Brody Bumila’s first-half explosion helps net milestone

Brody Bumila went off for 46 points in the first half to surpassed 1,000 points in his career for Bishop Feehan during an 89-51 Catholic Central League win over Cardinal Spellman.

Griffin Fudge scored 18 points, while Jabari Williams had 13 points and 17 rebounds as Arlington (15-4) defeated Woburn 57-51 in a Middlesex League matchup. … Matty Gray delivered a double-double with 30 points, 13 rebounds and five steals, while Charlie Poehler finished with 14 points as Burlington (14-2) defeated Wilmington, 71-40.

Girls basketball

Alison Morales put up 22 points as Lynn Tech took down Rockport 49-28 in a nonleague contest. … Ashley Cox (16 points) converted the game-winning three-point play with seven seconds remaining to lift Barnstable to a 38-35 win over Falmouth.

Alissa Marcella led the way with 16 points for Pembroke in a 53-38 Patriot League win over Plymouth South. Pembroke coach Tim Lopes notched his 100th win. … Kelsey Lanza scored 10 points, while Sofia Spada registered nine points as Silver Lake defeated Plymouth North, 52-45.

Grace Leung scored 14 points, while Emma Smith had 12 points as Bishop Feehan bested Cardinal Spellman 46-17 in the Catholic Central League. … Caitlin Boyle (24 points, 10 rebounds) and Celia Neilson (13 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists) paced Bishop Fenwick (11-4) in a 55-48 win over Cathedral.

Adrianna Porazzo poured in 36 points to power Foxboro to a 68-36 Hockomock League win over Stoughton. Alaysia Drummonds tallied 13 points, and Rhianna Rice had 12 points for the Warriors. … Ava Bonney (16 points), Tessah Rodrigues (12 points), Brielle Nicholls (11 points) and Kaylee Fernandes (11 points) guided Franklin in a 73-57 win over Attleboro.

Molly Lucas netted 20 points, while Ashley Asplund scored 11 points as Rockland (10-6) defeated Carver 55-38 in the South Shore League to clinch a spot in the Div. 3 state tournament.

Shauna O’Brien (21 points, four rebounds) and Sara Graves (13 points, three steals, four rebounds) finished in double figures for Pingree in a 51-30 NEPSAC win over Lexington Christian.

Freshman Alyssa Daniels knocked down 30 points, while Julia Mello added 11 points as Dighton-Rehoboth topped West Bridgewater 67-46 in the South Coast Conference.

Ally Johnson and Sara Michel scored 15 points each as Blue Hills (12-5) beat Bristol-Plymouth 30-21 in the Mayflower Athletic Conference.

Boys hockey

Ryan Elrick netted a hat trick for Canton in an 8-0 Hockomock League victory over Mansfield.

Girls hockey

Sarah DiCenso scored a hat trick and dished two assists, while Olivia Polles potted two goals as Pingree beat Winsor 8-0 in NEPSAC action.

SWIMMING AND DIVING

Concord-Carlisle leads the Div. 2 North girls’ sectionals after the opening day with a score of 279. The Patriots had multiple first-place finishes, including Bea Turretini in the 200 free and 500 free, Audrey Herz in the one meter dive and the 400 free relay team. Weston finished second with 250 points while Marblehead and Wayland tied for third with 216 points.

Dover-Sherborn currently leads the Div. 2 South girls’ sectionals after the opening day with a score of 235. First place finishes for the Raiders included Raina Wu in the 100 free and the 200 free relay team. Seekonk sits in second place with a score of 194 while Bishop Feehan is in third with 149 points.

GIRLS TRACK

Central Catholic won the Merrimack Valley Conference team championship with 131 points. First place finishers include Arianna DiPietro in the 55m hurdles and high jump, Avery Strickler in the 300m and long jump, Kyla Breslin in the mile run, and the 4×400 relay team. Billerica finished second with 91 points.

Football

Canton appointed Jeff Eckler as its head football coach. A 1991 Canton graduate, Eckler was a captain during his playing days and has been a member of the Bulldogs coaching staff for 30 years.
