Gus
“Kitty-sitting my adorable grandkitty, Gus,” Lori writes.
Friday, Jan. 29
Jay and Sammy.
“This is a studio photo of me, circa 1958, with Sammy, the family Siamese cat,” Jay writes. “Sammy was an indoor cat, but as we got older my mother (who wasn’t a cat person) decided that both cats and kids could spend more time outside on the farm. This worked out well for both of us.”
Tuesday, Jan. 27
Araby’s winter gear.
“Too cold to even go out and get the paper,” Alberic writes.
Monday, Jan. 26
Mimi
“Here’s Mimi, the queen of our house back in the day,” Kathy writes. “A true diva, she disdained mousing as an activity beneath her. One time there was a mouse under the dresser. She looked for a while and then turned and walked away.”
Friday, Jan. 23
Koa
“Here is a picture of Koa who has been featured before in this segment,” Cathy writes. “She is enjoying one of her favorite spots on a cold day.”
Thursday, Jan. 22
Rupert
“Our dog, Rupert, got a guitar for Christmas, and he’s a natural!” Beth and Mike of Hastings told us in December. “His new command is, ‘Go play your guitar!’”
Wednesday, Jan. 21
Wrigley waits for treats.
“My son’s bus driver hands out treats to all the pets on his route,” writes Kathryn. “It’s my dog’s favorite part of the day!” See Wrigley the Goldendoodle at the bus stop here.
Tuesday, Jan. 20
Rico
“Here is Rico, an almost 7-year-old Portuguese Water Dog, in his 10- to 20-degree-below-zero coat and booties,” Larry writes. “Rico loves being out in the snow and when it gets real cold he wants his coat and booties on.”
Monday, Jan. 19 (Memorial Monday)
Max
“This is my best dog, Max,” Angie writes. “After almost 17 years together, I had to say goodbye in December. I decided to get some holiday photos of him taken at the local vet clinic. He was so loved and I miss him dearly.”
Friday, Jan. 16
Enzo is having fun while his people are on vacation.
“We are out of the country but Enzo is still sending us his photo,” Alberic writes.
Thursday, Jan. 15
Taylor on the left, and again on the left with Echo.
“Meet the Frost’s newest fan, sweet Collie girl Taylor,” Marnie writes. “She’s brightening life for me and my collie boy Echo as a foster from Minnesota Wisconsin Collie Rescue. She’s with us to recover from a (hockey related?) ACL injury and looks forward to being drafted by her forever home team. I’m also including a sweet pic of Taylor (left) and Echo napping on the same Frost throw, though you can’t see the logo in that one.”
Wednesday, Jan. 14
Rico
“Here is Rico,” Maggie writes. “He will be three at the end of March. He is very mischievous and this is the face he gives me when he is hangry boy.”
Tuesday, Jan. 13
Roger
“Roger, who we call our ‘Inspector General,’ inquires as to the source and meaning of his look-alike,” write Barbara and Roger of St. Paul. “Roger is seven years old and doing well.”
Monday, Jan. 12
Robin, June Bug and Ginger, what happened?
“As a Minnesotan, I’m used to snow,” Kristin writes. “However, it is usually outside. We reserve stuffed dog toys for Christmas only. Ginger (my dad’s dog) is the yellow blob in back with Robin and June Bug looking innocent up front.”
Friday, Jan. 9
Archie
“Our 6-year-old Archie helps rule our house,” write Barbara and Richard of St. Paul. “Archie is a ‘professional’ eater with distinct food preferences. We think he is a handsome guy. He posed for this photo, but he usually has a more friendly look.”
Thursday, Jan. 8
Ruh-roh, Truman!
“Truman, adopted at six weeks, found something to play with!” Leslie writes. “He’s an energetic, playful, and loving boy, which helps to ignore his transgressions.”
Wednesday, Jan. 7
Santa and Ozzie.
“Ozzie is eagerly awaiting his first Christmas!” Ken wrote last month. “He was found abandoned as a stray in rural Nevada when he was approximately seven months old. He was adopted from the Nevada Humane Society and is now a very happy puppy who loves to give kisses, get his tummy rubbed, go for walks and chew as many Kong toys and Lambies as possible.”
Tuesday, Jan. 6
Max and Sam.
“Just an update on Max and Sam!” Lisa writes. “They have hunkered down for winter and are conserving heat by taking over my favorite chair. It’s been ten years since I got them from Feline Rescue, and every day has been an adventure!”
Monday, Jan. 5
Nelle and Hazel.
“It started very slowly, taking years,” writes Roger from Nowthen, Minn. “I don’t want dogs in the house … OK, let’s have one … OK, Nelle needs a friend, we can add Hazel … but they can’t be on the furniture!”
Friday, Jan. 2
Bubbles
“I read you’re low on pet pictures, and I simply must introduce you to Bubbles — my pandemic stray-turned-household tyrant,” Janean writes. “Bubbles is the sweetest boy who loves hugs, but his true passion? Jigsaw puzzles. I’m not joking. The moment he hears a puzzle box rattling, he sprints to the table like his life depends on it. He’s appointed himself Chief Puzzle Supervisor, watching intently as I sort edge pieces, never knocking a single one to the floor. (Our other cat handles demolition. Teamwork!) The truly absurd part? His sixth sense. I’ll tiptoe to the table while he’s in a coma-level sleep, thinking I’ll finally puzzle in peace. But the instant I touch a piece — BAM — he materializes on the table, wide-eyed and ready for duty. It’s like he has puzzle radar. I’ve accepted my fate. I don’t do puzzles anymore. We do puzzles. Bubbles insists on it.”
Thursday, Jan. 1
Thera, keeping warm.
“Thera got a new jacket for Christmas,” write Jacqueline and John. “We’ve already made good use of it but she won’t be needing it this week, thankfully!”
