New Bentley Continental GT S Goes Hybrid With 670 HP and a Darker Sportier Edge

Bentley is still filling out its fourth-generation Continental lineup, and the new Continental GT S is the latest piece of the puzzle. It lands above the standard Continental GT, but it stays a rung below the Speed and the more hardcore Supersports. In typical Bentley fashion, the idea is simple: give buyers a more aggressive, more athletic grand tourer without going full tilt, then wrap it in the kind of subtle attitude that only shows up once you know what you are looking at.

The big story is under the hood. The Continental GT S moves to a hybrid V8 setup with all-wheel drive, and Bentley says the new combo does more than just keep up, it actually outmuscles the old W12 in real-world performance. Output jumps to 670 hp and 686 lb-ft of torque, which is a hefty bump over the previous GT S. It can also run in EV mode for short stints, with electric-only range figures varying by market and test cycle, including Bentley quoting more than 50 miles on the EU cycle for its High Performance Hybrid setup, while early GT S details point to around 50 km, roughly 30 miles, of electric cruising.

Bentley did not stop at the powertrain. For the first time, the Continental GT S gets rear-wheel steering and an electronic limited-slip differential, plus chassis tech borrowed from the Speed, including a 48-volt active anti-roll system and updated stability control tuning. The payoff is quickness you will actually feel: Bentley claims 0 to 62 mph in about 3.5 seconds, with a top speed listed at 190 mph.

Visually, the GT S leans into a darker, more purposeful theme with black exterior accents, tinted lighting, and dark exhaust finishers, with the option to swap the standard two-tone wheels for an all-black look. Inside, Bentley says the S gets a unique bi-color upholstery setup, plus piano-black trim and optional dark-tinted chrome for the brightwork, which should suit anyone who wants their Continental to feel a little more nightclub than country club.
