Celtics wing misses eighth straight game with ankle injury
Josh Minott’s stint on the sideline continued Wednesday.
The Celtics ruled the fourth-year wing out for the eighth consecutive game as he works his way back from an ankle sprain.
Minott and Jayson Tatum (Achilles) were the only Celtics players who did not suit up against the Indiana Pacers. Jaylen Brown (left hamstring tightness) was upgraded from probable to active before tipoff at TD Garden.

Minott does appear to be progressing in his rehab, however. He was moving well during a pregame workout Wednesday evening, wearing a brace on his injured left ankle.
What the 23-year-old’s role will look like once he’s healthy remains to be seen. Minott fell out of head coach Joe Mazzulla’s rotation in late December, logging just three garbage-time minutes over six games before his injury. His last meaningful playing time came in a Dec. 22 win over Indiana.
Before that demotion, Minott appeared in 27 consecutive games, starting 10 of them and averaging 18.2 minutes per night.
Wings Jordan Walsh, Hugo Gonzalez and Baylor Scheierman all have seen consistent minutes behind starters Brown and Sam Hauser.
The Pacers, who have been wrecked by injuries this season, were missing guards Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles) and Bennedict Mathurin (thumb) and forward Obi Toppin (foot) in their final matchup against Boston this season.
