Boston Police Blotter: Officers recover guns, crack, fentanyl
Boston Police arrested a Dorchester man for allegedly carrying a Glock without a license Saturday.
Officers initially stopped a vehicle in Mattapan that had a defective headlight around 2:16 a.m. The operator had a suspended license and a warrant for his arrest, police said. They also said they observed that the front seat passenger was wearing a ski mast and ballistic vest.
Police arrested the operator and searched the vehicle, where they said they located a firearm and a stun gun.
After taking the suspects, the operator and passenger, into custody without incident, detectives arrived on the scene to photograph and further investigate. They identified the gun in the car as a Glock 43X loaded with ten rounds of 9mm ammunition.
BPD charged Justin Frederick Williams, 35, of Dorchester, with several gun offenses, including carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, use of body armor in commission of a felony, and carrying a stun gun without a license. Police said it was not Williams’ first gun offense and also charged him with armed career criminal, firearm violation with three prior violent or drug convictions.
The driver of the car Darnell Buffong, 42, of Mattapan, was also arrested and charged with operating a vehicle with a suspended license.
Both are expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.

Dorchester search warrant recovers fentanyl
BPD recovered fentanyl, crack cocaine, and a firearm following the execution of a search warrant in Dorchester on Friday afternoon.
The search warrant was issued for a residence at 191 Talbot Avenue as a part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
Officers at the residence saw the suspect leave the home around 2:30 p.m., then enter the passenger side of a vehicle that stopped by. They said they stopped the vehicle and took the suspect into custody.
Police said they then executed the search warrant, doing a “protective sweep” of the residence that led them to locate two individuals inside, who they informed of the search warrant.
According to BPD, officers recovered a Protec .25 caliber semi-automatic pistol, ammunition, a substance that appeared to be fentanyl, and multiple individual packages of crack cocaine. Police said the suspected drugs were found inside footwear and other containers in a bedroom. They also recovered digital scales, “drug packaging materials,” and thousands of dollars of U.S. currency.
Police arrested Andy Alcantara-Beltre, 33, of Dorchester and charged him with unlawful possession of a gun and ammunition, trafficking a Class A substance (over 100 grams), and possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (crack cocaine).
He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
