Howie Carr: This (allegedly) drunken Holyoke city leader has a foul mouth

Israel Rivera, the vice president of the Holyoke City Council, got a bad ice cube around midnight on the Saturday before Christmas.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that his boozy antics after being lugged by the State Police will forever enshrine him in the Massachusetts Politicians’ Alcohol of Fame.

All dialogue is guaranteed verbatim. It was recorded on Mass State Police body cams and then transcribed into the incident report.

When I requested that report Thursday, the State Police immediately began dragging their feet. Professional courtesy, Democrats being Democrats…

But the report had already been filed in district court, and it is a public document. Now you can read Councilor Rivera’s vile, racist, unexpurgated comments for yourself at my website, howiecarrshow.com.

Parental discretion advised.

For the record, Israel Rivera is a “community organizer.” Of course he is!

On Dec. 20, the State Police charge, he drove drunk, ran a stop sign, did 40 in a 25-mph zone and then swerved up onto a sidewalk.

The proud Democrat was driving a 2001 Buick LeSabre, which is the 413 area code equivalent of a low rider.

According to the State Police, Rivera is “black or African American.” I mention this only because of what you are about to read.

“I’m a city councilor,” he slurred after a pleasant evening at the Wyckoff Country Club. “You can’t really work with me? I’ll just cut the budget… everyone else gets a pass but I don’t?”

Once he was pulled over, Rivera asked the politician’s eternal question:

“You know who the bleep I am?” he demanded. “I’m not your regular (n-word)!”

Eventually, the troopers threw him into the back seat of their cruiser, where they have those doors that Democrats can’t pry open to flee.

At this point, you might say that the councilor-at-large was no longer at large.

He admitted multiple times to the troopers that he was “inebriated.” Rivera then began banging his head on that partition used to prevent the Democrats in back from assaulting the cops up front.

“I didn’t do anything wrong for me to be sitting back here, inebriated, okay, you got that?” he yelled. “Next year when I’m a bleeping cop myself and I take the test, I swear to God I’ll make you (n-words) look bad!”

Given his proclivities, Rivera is a perfect candidate for the modern MSP, come to think of it. Det. Capt. Thomas McCarthy and ex-Trooper Kristopher Carr, among so many others, could not be reached for comment.

The troopers drove him to the barracks in Springfield, where they let Rivera make the usual phone calls.

“During these phone calls,” Trooper Daniel Harpin Jr. wrote, “Rivera was observed laughing about the incident. Rivera stated while on the phone, ‘They did the test on me. I had no choice (n-word). I’m drunk as (f-word).”

Do you notice his recurring use of a certain word, which Democrats consider a terrible slur, except of course when they’re using it?

According to the MSP transcription, Rivera was pronouncing the n-word with a long “a” at the end, rather than the hard “r” used in other circles, including by certain corrupt parties once employed in law enforcement in eastern Massachusetts.

But seriously what’s the difference? It’s still the n-word, is it not?

I called the number listed for Rivera on the incident report, and he picked up the phone. I identified myself and asked him how he was doing.

He replied, “Just stayin’ out of trouble.”

That will be for others to judge, Councilor. Next, I asked him if he had any comments about his recent embarrassment.

“I’ve been advised not to comment,” he said.

Does he plan to resign from that sweet $10,000-a-year gig on the City Council?

“Again, I’ve been advised not to make any comments at this time.”

Next question: about your repeated use of the n-word…

“What?” he said, in what seemed genuine surprise. “What are you talking about?”

Haven’t you seen the State Police report? I asked.

“No,” he said. “No one ever gave me the report.”

In timid regime-controlled Springfield media, there have been only the vaguest of references to “racial slurs.”

That was the same phrase used by the Holyoke police unions in their statement demanding an “ethics opinions” on the potty-mouthed community organizer.

The local cops described the Democrat’s racist statements as “deeply troubling and inconsistent with the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion.”

Beautiful. Throw that DEI BS right back in their faces.

However, I must give Rivera some credit. He took my call, after all.

And after speaking to him even briefly, it was clear Rivera is much more fluent in English than, say, Sgt. Yuri Bukhenik, the corrupt trooper who’s still being coddled by the MSP brass despite his abominable behavior in the failed lynching of Karen Read.

According to the MSP report, Rivera lapsed into “Spanglish” only once, during the sidewalk Olympics.

“Rivera attempted to continue the test by walking towards me in a heel-to-toe manner,” the trooper wrote, “counting his steps out loud in Spanish. The results of this test indicated impairment.”

Then there was the count-the-numbers part of the test. That’s always impossible for a Democrat office-holder in Massachusetts. Just ask Sen. Michael Brady of Brockton.

“It should be noted that Rivera also counted ‘seven 1000, seven 1000, eight 1000, nine 1000, one hundred. The results of this test indicated impairment.”

Say what you will, Rivera was a lot closer to sobriety than Sen. Brady was during his most recent brush with the local constabulary in Weymouth.

Here’s the way I see Rivera’s 2026 calendar shaping up:

Next court date: Jan. 26.

Announcement of his inevitable Profiles in Courage Award: May 2. (Open bar, Councilor Rivera!)

May 30: He delivers the keynote address at the state Democrat convention in Worcester. Then, after the delegates’ rapturous swooning subsides, Rivera is nominated for some state constitutional office, maybe even governor — by acclimation.

I’m telling you, as you can see from the police report, Israel Rivera is the ultimate Democrat’s Democrat.

And soon he will be going viral, because this is the last line of the State Police report:

“These statements were all captured on my BWC (body-worn camera) which was being utilized to document the booking process.”

We have already filed an official public-records law request with the corrupt State Police for that body-cam video.

Councilor Rivera, are you ready for your close-up? Move over AOC, Ayanna and Jasmine Crockett.

Lights, camera, action…
