High school roundup: Lucy Irwin’s six-point night carries Central Catholic to victory

Lucy Irwin scored a hat trick and dished out three assists, while Molly Boyden tallied two goals and three assists as Central Catholic (3-4) defeated Concord-Carlisle 7-1 in nonleague girls hockey action.

Boys hockey

Liam Doherty, Joe Von Handorf, Justin Mosher each scored while Connor Kotwicki posted 20 saves to keep Xaverian (8-0) undefeated with a 3-0 Catholic Conference win over rival BC High.

Boys basketball

Devan Williams scored 29 points, while Lj Reddicks and Ryan McLaughlin chipped in with 13 points each as Milton Academy defeated Thayer 79-69 in an Independent School League matchup.

Girls basketball

Abby Broderick dropped 20 points, adding five rebounds and four steals as Medfield (7-0) coasted to a 74-32 victory over Tri-Valley League rival Dedham. … Senior forward Sofiah Wightman Kraus paced the offense with 15 points, as Hopkinton (7-0) remained perfect with a 46-40 win over Norton.

Ally Johnson (16 points, four steals) and Sarah Michel (16 points, eight rebounds) propelled Blue Hills (5-2) to a 38-33 Mayflower Athletic Conference win over Tri-County.

Kaylee Maier (22 points, seven rebounds, four steals), Lily White (15 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks) and Aiva Pitman (nine points) fueled Dracut (6-1) in a 54-40 nonleague win over Wakefield.
