Baby of Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, home after 10 months in NICU
Rapper Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, has finally welcomed her new baby home, after the infant spent 10 months in a hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit following her birth at 25 weeks.
“She’s home,” a beaming Broadus posted on Instagram Wednesday alongside a photo of her cuddling with tiny Codi under a faux fur blanket. “Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.”
Broadus and fiancé Wayne Duece announced in December 2024 that they were expecting their first child. She was shocked late last February when a visit to the doctor to address abdominal pains turned into an emergency C-section three months before the baby’s due date.
The 26-year-old, the youngest of Snoop Dogg’s four children and his only daughter, has immune system conditions including lupus, so her pregnancy was being closely monitored. She has struggled with mental health issues and had a stroke in 2024.
During that fateful February 2025 checkup, doctors discovered a potentially dangerous pregnancy complication and said she had to deliver immediately. The rest of the year was harrowing while “Tiny C,” as Broadus has nicknamed little Codi, remained hospitalized.
Premature babies are classified into four types depending on how early they are, according to the Mayo Clinic. A typical pregnancy is about 40 weeks long, and any baby born before 37 weeks is considered premature. A baby born before 28 weeks is considered “extremely preterm.”
Broadus has documented their harrowing mother-daughter journey on Instagram, and her story was featured on UCLA Health’s website so as to “raise awareness and provide comfort” to others in similar situations, the hospital said. Codi, Snoop Dogg’s eighth grandchild, has persevered throughout.
“That girl is so feisty. She’s so resilient and strong,” the proud mom told Us Weekly in September. “That girl is just a sweet little firecracker.”
