Ram Extends 10-Year 100,000-Mile Powertrain Warranty for 2026 Trucks and Vans

If you have been shopping Ram’s 2026 trucks and vans and trying to time a purchase, here’s a welcome bit of breathing room. Ram has extended its temporary 10-year/100,000-mile limited powertrain warranty, pushing the coverage past the original January 2, 2026 cutoff and keeping it available through the full 2026 model year. For buyers who keep vehicles long-term, that is the kind of policy change that can actually influence what ends up in the driveway.

The move also puts Ram in a rare position in the full-size truck world. Most gas-powered half-tons live in the familiar 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain lane, and that is where Ram’s standard coverage has traditionally sat, while diesel coverage typically runs 5 years/100,000 miles. Stretching to 10 years or 100,000 miles gives Ram a standout talking point against Ford and GM, especially at a time when monthly payments and longer loan terms have become the norm.

So what’s included? The expanded coverage applies broadly across Ram’s 2026 U.S. lineup, including the Ram 1500 (gas models), the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 trucks, and work-focused Chassis Cab variants like the 3500, 4500, and 5500. Ram is also rolling the warranty into its ProMaster vans, and it even extends to specialty trims such as the off-road-minded Power Wagon and the high-performance Ram RHO. In other words, it is not just a half-ton headline, it is a wide net.

As always, the fine print matters. This limited powertrain warranty is focused on the big-ticket mechanical pieces, including the engine, transmission, transfer case, driveshafts, differentials, and axles. It is aimed at retail customers who purchase or lease new vehicles, while fleet buyers do not get the same coverage, and fully electric models like the ProMaster EV are excluded. If you are cross-shopping an EV Ram or planning a commercial fleet purchase, that eligibility gap is worth noting up front.

For Ram, this reads like a confidence play, and for consumers it is a practical form of peace of mind. A longer powertrain warranty does not replace smart ownership, like keeping up with maintenance and understanding what is covered, but it can reduce the anxiety of owning a truck past the usual warranty window. If you are already considering a 2026 Ram 1500 or a ProMaster for work duty, this extension is another reason to put Ram on the short list and ask your dealer to walk you through the exact warranty terms tied to the VIN you are buying.
