Oliver Van Rhijn tallied 23 points and had 10 rebounds as Dover-Sherborn defeated Nipmuc 56-44 in a nonleague boys basketball game.

Collegiate Charter School of Lowell (2-0) defeated Boston Collegiate, 49-29, as Freddy Meija led the way with 19 points. … Lowell Catholic bounced Whittier, 63-40, during a CAC clash, as Max Kitenda produced a double-double and had 19 points.

Girls basketball

Gigi Gomes scored 15 points as Barnstable defeated Bourne 53-28 in a nonleague contest. … Sarah Michel notched 23 points and had seven rebounds while Allyson Johnson added 12 points and had two steals as Blue Hill defeated Westport 36-30.

In a Northeastern Conference game, Anna Kanders led the offense with 20 points and had eight assists as Swampscott beat Gloucester 58-40.

Girls hockey

Addy Nee scored two goals, Hannah D’Angelo added two assists in Pembroke’s 5-1 win over the Norwell/Scituate/Abington co-op in the first round of the Judy Gormley Cup.

Finn Hughes won the 100 fly and 100 back, Rowan Ward, Noah Wildt, Christian Petrilli and Evan Boothroyd won their individual races in Chelmsford’s 101-84 season-opening victory over Lexington.
