Porsche Honors F. A. Porsche With Ultra Rare 911 GT3 90 Edition

Porsche is marking what would have been Ferdinand Alexander Porsche’s 90th birthday with one of the most personal factory specials it has ever built, the 2027 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche. Limited to just 90 cars worldwide and created through the Sonderwunsch Manufaktur program, the anniversary model is inspired by the G body 911 that F. A. Porsche drove in the 1980s, with one example reserved for his son, Mark Porsche. It is a fitting tribute to the man who shaped the original 911 and later founded Porsche Design, blending motorsport hardware with intimate family details in a way few factory cars ever do.

Visually, the car announces itself with an exclusive F. A. Green metallic paint, a modern interpretation of the Oak Green metallic worn by F. A. Porsche’s own 911. The color was developed with input from the Porsche family and is part of the Paint to Sample Plus program, reinforcing the bespoke nature of the project. The 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche also wears Satin Black Sport Classic wheels that are not otherwise offered on the GT3 with Touring Package, complete with center locks featuring the classic 1963 Porsche crest. Out back, a gold plaque on the rear decklid grille carries the “90 F. A. Porsche” script, a subtle cue that this is far more than a typical GT3.

The interior is where the car feels closest to the man it celebrates. Truffle Brown Club Leather sets a warm, vintage tone, but it is the F. A. Grid-Weave fabric that steals the show. Used on the seat centers, the glovebox and even the front trunk mat, the multi-color pattern is lifted from F. A. Porsche’s favorite sport coat, a piece his son associates with childhood memories of his father’s home office. The Sport Chrono clock is modeled after the original Chronograph 1 created specifically for F. A., while an open pore walnut shift lever with his signature below the boot reinforces the tactile, analog feel. Gold inlays on the dashboard and stitching on the rear seat backs reference the “one of 90” status, ensuring each example feels like a numbered art piece as much as a track-capable machine.

Underneath the heritage detailing sits a very serious driver’s car. The special edition is based on the current 911 GT3 with Touring Package, pairing a naturally aspirated 4.0 liter flat six with 502 hp and 331 lb ft of torque, and the subtler adaptive rear spoiler in place of the GT3’s towering fixed wing. That means a redline that begs to be chased and a chassis tuned for circuit work, wrapped in a body that will only be recognizable to those who know what they are looking at. U.S. pricing starts at $387,000 before taxes, fees and options, and each buyer is invited into an in depth, one to one consultation with the Sonderwunsch team to finalize their configuration before production begins in mid 2026.

Every car also ships with its own piece of wrist-worn history. Owners receive an exclusive version of the Porsche Design Chronograph 1, complete with Super-LumiNova that mimics the warm, aged glow of vintage radium or tritium, giving the watch an instant patina vibe. F. A. Porsche’s initials sit above the day and date at 3 o’clock, just as they do on his personal watch still kept by the family, while the rotor on the back echoes the design and color of the car’s wheels. The case is crafted from lightweight titanium finished in black, and buyers can swap between a titanium bracelet and a leather strap that matches the car’s interior, all using a quick release system. The result is a thoroughly modern, COSC certified chronograph that feels spiritually connected to the all black original from 1972.

For Porsche collectors and brand loyalists, the 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche is one of those once in a generation builds that connects the garage to the brand’s design DNA in a deeply personal way. It combines the latest 992 GT3 Touring hardware with cues from F. A. Porsche’s own life, from his favored green 911 to his sport coat and pioneering Chronograph 1, all wrapped into an ultra low volume package that will likely disappear into private collections the moment order books open in 2026. Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the designer behind the original 911 and the founder of Porsche Design, passed away in 2012, but with this car and its companion watch, his philosophy of functional, timeless design continues to live at the center of the Porsche story.
