Why Stefon Diggs is glad Patriots are underdogs this week to Bills
FOXBORO — Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs had an interesting reaction to hearing that his current team is underdogs to his former team, the Bills, this Sunday.
“Good.”
The Bills are 1.5-point favorites when they come to Gillette Stadium to play the Patriots on Sunday. That line has moved about seven points in the Patriots’ favor since the beginning of the season, but Diggs believes it’s a positive that his squad isn’t favored.

Why? The Patriots play with a “real edge.”
“This team is full of (players) that were castoffs and people who were cut or people who didn’t necessarily get the opportunity that they wanted,” Diggs said. “However you dice it up. I feel like that’s good for us.
“Being an underdog, people like us have been an underdog our whole life. We’re going to have something to prove regardless of it. I think the main thing is it gets exciting when you’re an underdog, when you’ve got a lot to prove, when you’re playing with that edge and you’re playing aggressive because nobody believes in us but us.”
The Patriots beat the Bills 23-20 in Week 5 on the road, so it is slightly surprising to see them, sitting at 11-2 and riding a 10-game winning streak, as underdogs against the 9-4 Bills.
But the Bills were considered Super Bowl contenders opening the season, while the Patriots weren’t even expected to get to double-digit wins.
Despite the Bills’ relative struggles at times this season, they still have the best Super Bowl odds in the AFC at +900. The Patriots are next at +1000.
