Police Blotter: Sending minor obscene material; shots fired in Cambridge

Federal prosecutors charged a Brookline man with trying to share obscene material with a minor Tuesday.

William Kahn, 28, allegedly had sexually explicit conversations, sent a photo of adult genitalia, and tried to plan a meet up with an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl online, according to U.S. Attorney Leah Foley.

Khan appeared in court Tuesday and was charged with attempted coercion and enticement and attempted transfer of obscene material to a minor, which both carry a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and $250,000.

He’s scheduled to appear in court again on Dec. 17.

Shots fired in Cambridge

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area around Cambridge Street and Evereteze Way in Cambridge around 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

Cambridge Police said that an unknown suspect confronted an individual with a firearm while they were parking their car. The suspect fired several shots and allegedly hit the vehicle, shattering the rear window. The victim was not hurt.

Incident Summary

BPD responded to 264 incidents in the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. Wednesday, according to the department’s incident log. Those included arrests for one robbery, one residential burglary, 28 larcenies, and one auto theft.

— Taras Holloman. 2630 Kingsbirdge Rd., Bronx, NY. Assault and battery.

— Renford Boswell, 109 Devon, Boston. Assault with a dangerous weapon.

— Julian Mongui Abril, 60 Lubec St., East Boston. Trafficking 200 grams or more of cocaine.

— Virgilio Alves-Barbosa-Amado, no address listed. Trespassing.

— Tito Barbosa-Correia, 330 Bowdin St., Dorchester. Trespassing.

— Andres Contreras, 15 Manning St., Roslindale. Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

— Jose Luis Ramirez, 85 Mount Pleasant Ave., Roxbury. Allowing another to use license.

— Fardrigue Senat, 13 Dickens St., Dorchester. Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

— Benjamin Velez Santos, 49 Polk St., Charlestown. Unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

— Sergio Ramirez . 280 Maverick St., East Boston. Warrant.

— Peter Jolymore, 556 Columbia Rd., Dorchester. Shoplifting $100 or more by concealing merchandise.

— Christopher Mazenkas, 65 Riverside Ave., Medford. Possession of a Class A drug.

— Hani Ali, 1750 Commonwealth Ave., Brighton. Larceny from a person.

— James Gorham, 22 White Trellis, Plymouth. Shoplifting by asportation more than $250.
