Boston Police Blotter: Shoplifting on Newbury Street, in the Pru
Boston Police arrested two people for allegedly shoplifting in two separate incidents Monday in Back Bay.
Officers responded to a report of a larceny in progress just before 6 p.m. on Newbury Street. Two suspects had been seen fleeing the area down Exeter St. and toward Commonwealth Ave, they said.
When officers arrived on the scene, they saw someone matching the description of one of the suspects on Commonwealth and found two jackets with the tags still on the them behind a flower pot on Exeter.
Police arrested Kyle Brown, 41, of Boston, and charged him with larceny under $1,200.
Later in the evening, still in the Back Bay area, officers in the Prudential Mall say they observed a man trying to steal merchandise from the Lululemon Store.
After approaching the suspect, they recovered the allegedly stolen merchandise and returned it to the store,
Officers arrested and charged Justin Webb, 39, of Weymouth, with shoplifting by asportation and common notorious thief.

BPD responded to 233 incidents in the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the department’s incident log. Those included arrests for six aggravated assaults and 23 larcenies.
