The Renault Clio is now #2 year-to-date in Spain.

New car sales in Spain continue on their stunning form, November marking the 7th consecutive month of double-digit year-on-year gains at +12.9% to 94,124 units. We are getting close to pre-pandemic figures (97,173 sales in November 2019). The year-to-date tally is up an equally impressive +14.7% to 1,045,638, the first time in 6 years it passes the million mark after 11 months. A sign of a healthy market, private sales grow 19.1% for the month to 49,348 while company sales are up 15.7% to 39,535. Rental sales are off -32.5% to 5,241. So far this year, private sales are up 20% to 489,429, company sales up 12.5% to 375,212 and rental saes up 6.3% to 180,997. The best performing regions are Ceuta y Melilla (+40.8%), Murcia (+21.4%), Navarra (+20.5%), Andalucia (+20.3%), Baleares (+20%) and Extremadura (+19%). Madrid is up 11.2% and accounts for 39.4% of national sales vs. 42.8% YTD.

In the models charts, Toyota (+1.7%) significantly trails the market but remains in the lead with 8.3% share, distancing Renault (+8.9%) at 7.7% of the market. Volkswagen (+20.4%) impresses at #3 while Dacia (+15%) is #4 for the 4th month in a row, a ranking it now also holds year-to-date, passing Seat (-1.9%). Note Dacia was #7 over the Full Year 2024. Audi (+33.2%), Peugeot (+27.6%) and Hyundai (+18.3%) also score fantastic results in the remainder of the Top 10. Meanwhile BYD (+267.7%) breaks its volume and share records and ranks #14 like last month. Notice also Jaecoo (+169.6%), Omoda (+64.8%) and Opel (+53%) all in great shape. Newcomer Ebro ranks #21 and Telsa is off -8.7% to #23.

Model-wise, the Dacia Sandero (+19%) manages a 10th win this year with 3.8%. It is followed by the Renault Clio (+72%) now also up to #2 year-to-date while the Peugeot 2008 (+98.3%) is in fantastic shape once again at #3 and advances to #8 so far this year. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+10.2%) rallies back up 9 spots on October to #5, distancing the Hyundai Tucson (+18.7%) and VW T-Roc (+33.5%) both beating the market. The Opel Corsa (+47.2%) surges 14 ranks on last month to #10 just as the MG ZS (-9.7%) is in difficulty at #11 and drops to #3 YTD. The Ebro S400, a rebadged Chery Tiggo 4 assembled locally, is the best-selling newcomer at #43 ahead of the BYD Dolphin Surf at #50 and the Dacia Bigster at #55.
