Uruguay October 2025: Chevrolet signs first win this year
Chevrolet holds 12.7% of the Uruguayan market in October.
New light vehicle sales in Uruguay jump 6.7% year-on-year in October to 6,848 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 10.8% to 56,006. This is the largest monthly volume reached in the country in at least 8 years. Chevrolet (+30.3%) scores its first win of the year, hitting 12.7% share vs. 10.3% YTD where it is stuck at #3 (-27.7%). Fiat (-23%) struggles but stays in 2nd place while BYD (+159.8%), after having reached a record 18.7% share last month, settles for a more reasonable 10.7% of the market at #3. It is still #2 year-to-date. Suzuki (+8.5%) and Volkswagen (+3.5%) edge up but the best performers in the Top 10 are all Chinese: Dongfeng is up 243.1%, Geely up 214.8% and Chery up 149.4%. All in all, Chinese carmakers soar 124.1% to 33% share vs. 15.7% a year ago.
