Panama October 2025: Kaiyi KY7 cracks Top 10

The Kaiyi KY7 ranks #6 in Panama in October.

New light vehicle sales in Panama gain 15.7% year-on-year in October to 7,837 units, with the year-to-date tally standing at 50,599. Toyota (-0.2%) remains by far the most popular carmaker in the country but drops to 18.1% share vs. 19.2% so far this year. Hyundai (+105.3%) surges ahead to 13.3% of the market, overtaking sister brand Kia (+2%). Suzuki (+14.2%) almost matches the market while Geely (+94.1%) soars YoY but stays at #5. Jetour (+224.8%) is up three spots on last month to #6, overtaking Nissan (+41.3%), Mitsubishi (+2.1%) and Isuzu (+57.1%). Kaiyi (+300%) breaks into the Top 10 for the firs first time in the brand’s history.

Model-wise, the Hyundai Grand i10 (+31.6%) threepeats at #1 ahead of the Kia Soluto (+16.5%) and Toyota Yaris Cross (+18.8%). Leader over the Full Year 2024, the Toyota Hilux (-31.3%) is in freefall this month at #4. The Hyundai Creta (+6.2%) is up two ranks on September to round out the Top 5. The event of the month is the appearance of the Kaiyi KY7 at #6, potentially the model’s first ever Top 10 finish anywhere in the world. The Suzuki Fronx and Geely Coolray also make it into the Top 10.
