Bruins activate veteran forward Elias Lindholm
The Bruins appear to be getting some help up front.
The B’s activated Elias Lindholm from injured reserve prior to their game against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday (8 p.m.) and, to make room for him on the roster, placed defenseman Charlie McAvoy (facial injury) on the IR (retroactive to Nov. 15).
Lindholm’’s return would be a boost to a forward unit that has been down three top-six forwards (Viktor Arvidsson and Casey Mittelstadt remain out) as well as a fourth-liner (Jeffrey Viel).
Lindholm has been out of the lineup since suffering a knee injury against the Buffalo Sabres on Oct. 30.
Lindholm has 4-5-9 totals in 13 games.
