Boston Police Blotter: Pembroke child rapist sentenced to 30 years in state prison
A convicted child rapist was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
“I am immensely proud of the victims in this case for coming forward with their testimony, and for their continued work with our office to ensure David Johnson’s lengthy prison sentence,” Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy Cruz said. “Their bravery in the face of unimaginable hardship is a testament to their strength as people, and it is my sincere hope that today’s sentence brings them peace.”
A Plymouth Superior Court jury convicted David Johnson Jr., 47, of Pembroke, of seven counts of child rape after a six-day jury trial in October. His sentence requires a minimum of 30 years and a maximum of 38 years, followed by three years on probation and registration on the sex offenders list.
He will not be allowed near any of his victims nor will Johnson be allowed any employment or volunteer opportunities with children. He will have a GPS monitor.
The Pembroke Police Department began its investigation into Johnson in May 2021 after his victims came forward. His assaults spanned decades.
