The Los Angeles Dodgers are the reigning champions for the second year in a row, and the offseason has finally begun.

Key MLB offseason dates

First day after the World Series: Eligible players become free agents

Fifth day after the World Series: Deadlines for club and player option decisions, reinstatement of players from 60-day injured list, and for teams to tender qualifying offers.

Nov. 10-13: General Managers Meetings (Las Vegas)

Nov. 18-20: Owners’ meetings (New York)

Nov. 18: Deadline for players to accept qualifying offers (4 p.m. ET); deadline for teams to finalize 40-man rosters ahead of Rule 5 Draft (6 p.m. ET)

Nov. 21: Tender deadline for all unsigned players, including those arbitration-eligible. (6 p.m. ET)

Dec. 8-11: MLB Winter Meetings (Orlando)

Dec. 9: MLB Draft lottery

Dec. 10: MLB Rule 5 Draft

Dec. 15: ’25 International signing period ends

Jan. 8, 2026: Arbitration-eligible players and their teams exchange figures

Red Sox Qualifying Offers

This year’s Qualifying Offer is a record $22.05 million.

Teams may extend the QO to any impending free agent who spent the entire season on their roster and has never received one before.

Players who accept are signed for the following season. Those who decline remain free agents, and any team that signs them must give their former club draft pick compensation.

Giolito is Boston’s only QO-eligible player this year.
