Howie Carr: Boston judge the rubber stamp Dems, and Harvard, covet

Judge Allison Burroughs is ready for her close-up.

It’s a rite of passage now for a certain breed of $246,000-a-year unelected federal judges — issue a preposterous ruling against President Donald Trump, get a bunch of slobbering headlines and establish your bona fides with the apparatchiks of the Democrat party.

Being a loyal Democrat from Brookline, Comrade Burroughs always rubber-stamps whatever The Party demands. And what those pampered pukes are rattling their tin cup for today is the restoration of more than $2 billion in federal handouts to Harvard University.

Burroughs is the same judge who in 2019 ruled that Harvard could continue its blatant racism against whites and Asians — a decision overturned in 2023 by the U.S. Supreme Court. Her ruling was so blatantly unconstitutional that Chief Justice John Roberts felt compelled to write this:

“Eliminating racial discrimination means eliminating all of it.”

Not that Harvard has ever stopped its apartheid ways. They don’t need no stinkin’ laws. That’s why their federal funding is being pulled now. But Harvard’s got all their lunatic limousine liberals on the bench on speed-dial to overturn the will of the people — and the Constitution.

The judge from Brookline not named Shelley Joseph is next going to order the taxpayers to give billions to the eggheads who despise us and have no qualms whatsoever about engaging in the most egregious kinds of discrimination against us.

She held a hearing on Harvard’s motions Monday. Her hearing was open, but her mind was closed. Trump certainly knows what Burroughs’ decision is going to be.

“She is a TOTAL DISASTER, which I say even before hearing her Ruling,” the president wrote on Truth Social. “She has systematically taken over the various Harvard cases, and is an automatic ‘loss’ for the People of our Country!”

You want some receipts? Before she took early retirement from Barack Obama, she gave $2,500 to local political hacks. Of that $2,500, Democrats got… $2,500. That’s the judge Harvard wants — every time.

She’s already ruled against Trump’s attempt to stop her fellow travelers from importing more foreign terrorist “students.” Long-term that ruling will probably be overturned, but so what?

It used to be that judges crafted their decisions so they wouldn’t be voided by higher courts. In Trump times, it’s become a badge of honor to be overturned. The worse you lose at the Supreme Court, the more righteous you must be.

For instance, when Burroughs told Harvard that they could continue their reverse Jim Crow admissions policies, SCOTUS slapped her down 6-3.

A straight party-line vote, in other words. But she shares a courthouse with Judge Brian Murphy of Shrewsbury. His most recent ruling, to bring a bunch of savage illegal aliens back to America (but not Shrewsbury or Brookline), was so out of line that SCOTUS slapped him down, 7-2. Even Elena Kagan told Murphy he was way out of line.

So apparently Murphy has vaulted over Burroughs to become the most anti-Trump judge in Boston. But nationally, he’s “trumped” by Judge Susan Illston, a 77-year-old hack from California. She tried to stop large-scale federal layoffs and was chastised by SCOTUS on an 8-1 vote.

Illston, by the way, was born in Tokyo. Among this woke cabal of judges, you get bonus points for hailing from parts unknown.

Another Boston judge who’s in this little competition to give Trump the biggest finger is one Myong Juon. He ordered the federal government not to lay off 1,378 hacks from the DOE. Hey, why not — he went to UMass Boston and Suffolk Law, after all.

The Supreme Court gave Juon the back of its hand, 6-3. A standard pounding, in other words. But he gets the extra points for not being born here in the Great Satan.

So he’s right up there with Judge Ana Reyes, from Montevideo, Uruguay. Plus she’s a lesbian. She tried to halt the Pentagon’s decision to ban transgender troops. Who better to run the U.S. military than a Sapphic scholar from south of the border?

The Deep State appealed the USAID cuts to one Judge Amir Ali, born of Egyptian immigrants… in Canada. He even went to college in his adopted homeland… of Canada.

Ali got in on a big 50-48 vote in the Senate. That’s another thing all these pukes have in common. They barely slid in. Murphy (who, sadly for his future prospects for advancement, was born in Maryland) was another lame-duck landslide, 47-45, last December.

Now Judge Allison Burroughs gets another 15 minutes of fame. Perhaps after her “courageous” ruling she’ll be described by The New York Times as “unflinching” — that’s the adjective they used to describe rabid anti-Trumper Judge Tanya Chutkan.

You knew Comrade Chutkan was an up-and-comer in the Democrat judiciary when you read in her biography: “She later moved to the United States….”

From Jamaica. It was a worldwide search.

Burroughs is more the traditional garden-variety American hack judge. I checked her state contributions at the OCPF website, and I can tell you exactly when she came down with black-robe fever.

It was 2002. That was the year she took care of all the Democrat candidates for governor who she assumed might be handing out the early retirements to the bench in 2003.

She gave Steve Grossman $500, Robert Reich $150 and Shannon O’Brien $125. She knew enough not to waste any dough on Tom Birmingham. But then Mitt Romney destroyed her dream. She had to keep the day job.

In 2004, she started campaigning for the robes again. She gave Tom Reilly $850. He was, after all, the prohibitive Democrat favorite. She gave Martha Coakley $50. How bad did she want that state judgeship — in 2006 she even gave $125 to Tim Cahill. Talk about betting on a longshot!

But all’s well that ends well, even if it ends with the Supreme Court slapping you down again. In the lily-white neighborhoods where all these trust-funded judges live, the only thing that counts is the virtue signaling.

And the only way to properly show your wonderfulness is to rule against Orange Man Bad.

Unflinchingly.

Enjoy these next few moments in the spotlight, Comrade Burroughs. You could have been a contender. You might be on the next Democrat president’s Supreme Court short list, if only you’d been born in someplace fashionable like Kampala or Mogadishu.

In the meantime, Harvard si, America no!
