Patriots’ leader reveals more details of throwing session with Drake Maye
FOXBORO — The Patriots’ top offensive skill-position players didn’t spend the entirety of their six-week break away from football.
Patriots quarterbacks Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs, running back Rhamondre Stevenson, wide receivers Kendrick Bourne, Stefon Diggs, Kyle Williams, Ja’Lynn Polk and DeMario Douglas and tight end Hunter Henry snuck in a throwing session earlier this month before returning to Foxboro for training camp on Tuesday.

Henry said that Maye arranged the unofficial practice in Charlotte, N.C., after minicamp.
“Obviously, it was a good couple days of work and just get as many reps as we can to get a feel for each other,” Henry said. “But also it was good to be able to hang out. No matter good times, bad times, that bond will continue. So it was good to connect with the guys.”
The Patriots will hold their first official practice Wednesday at Gillette Stadium.
