Gophers basketball: Missouri, Stanford highlight men’s nonconference slate
The Gophers men’s basketball team will play at Missouri in mid-November, and travel to southern California to play Stanford and either Santa Clara or St. Louis in a multi-team event over Thanksgiving.
Those contests stand out on Minnesota’s full nonconference schedule for head coach Niko Medved’s first season, released Monday by the school.
Minnesota will play two games before heading south to play the Tigers of the Southeastern Conference on Nov. 12. The season opener against Gardner Webb is set for Nov. 3 at Williams Arena, followed by Alcorn State at The Barn on Nov. 8.
The U’s first game in the Acrisure Invitational will tip off against Stanford at 8:30 p.m. CT on Nov. 27 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, Calif. Based on results of the first games, the U will then play St. Louis or Santa Clara on Nov. 28.
The Gophers play another neutral court game against San Francisco at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D. on Nov. 22.
The opening week of Big Ten Conference play comes in early December, followed by the rest of the league schedule in 2026. The full conference schedule will be announced at a later date.
