Singapore May 2025: GAC (+312%), BYD (+117.1%), Tesla (+98.1%) highlight surging market
GAC sales are up 4-fold year-on-year in May.
The Singaporean new car market surges 39.7% year-on-year in May to 4,455 units, leading to a year-to-date tally up 30.5% to 19,318. BYD (+117.1%) confirms it is the new favourite of Singaporean car buyers with a dominant 18.5% share. It distances Toyota (+18%) at 15% of the market and BMW (+37.7%) at 10.4%, both trailing the overall growth rate. Tesla (+98.1%) rallies back up to #5 with 9.2% share while GAC (+312%) scores a second consecutive Top 10 finish at #10 with 2.3% share.
