Massachusetts State Police trooper crashes and flips cruiser on I-495
A statie responding to a crash ended up crashing his cruiser and flipping it on Interstate 495 Wednesday evening, according to Mass State Police.
Shortly before 7 p.m., a trooper assigned to the Andover Barracks was responding to a crash when “his cruiser crashed and overturned on Interstate 495 south shortly before the Lowell Connector,” MSP said in a statement.
“The Trooper extricated himself from the cruiser and was transported via ambulance to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” the state agency added.
The crash required officials to close part of the highway. All lanes have since reopened.
The crash will be investigated in accordance with department policy, MSP said.
