Saturday’s high school roundup/scores: Mayson Lower nets 100th career goal in Nantucket victory

Mayson Lower finished with five goals, including her 100th career goal, and three assists to lead Nantucket to a 14-3 girls lacrosse victory over Martha’s Vineyard. Maddie Lombardi added three goals for the Whalers.

In the Catholic Central League, Clare Latham netted five goals while Avery Texiera and Emily Berube added four goals each as Bishop Feehan defeated Archbishop Williams, 17-11.

Maisie Leland scored three goals, reaching the 100-goal mark for her career, as Hamilton-Wenham defeated St. Mary’s 19-11 in a nonleague goal. Avery Nistl led the way for the Generals with six goals.

Baseball

In the Catholic Central League, Ayden Mello struck out nine in a three-hitter as Bishop Feehan blanked Cardinal Spellman, 7-0.

UMass Lowell-bound star Seamus Scott pitched an eight-inning shutout to power Lowell Catholic to a 3-0 win over Greater Lowell Tech. Scott struck out six and the Crusaders scored three runs in the top of the eighth to qualify for the state tournament.

In Dual County League play, Westford Academy topped Concord-Carlisle, 7-2, as Evan Pasters pitched and hit the Ghosts to victory. He struck out four and allowed three hits over five innings and at the plate he collected two hits and an RBI.

Softball

Lidia Palys homered twice, while Julia Ligor drove in three runs as Lexington defeated Belmont 10-1 in the Middlesex League.

MIAA pairings

The boys and girls tennis pairings were released Friday afternoon by the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association.

On Tuesday, the boys volleyball, boys rugby and girls rugby pairings will be announced at 11 a.m.

On Wednesday, the baseball and softball pairings will be released at 11 a.m., followed by the boys and girls lacrosse pairings at 2 p.m.
