
Friday’s high school roundup/scores: Maddie Simonds powers Dighton-Rehoboth to another win
Maddie Simonds drove in four runs and struck out 10 as Dighton-Rehoboth capped off an unbeaten softball season in the South Coast Conference with an 18-0 win over West Bridgewater.
Reese Taylor shone at the plate (4-for-5, two doubles, two RBI, two runs) and in the circle (seven innings pitched, six hits, four walks, one earned run and seven strikeouts) as Apponequet (14-5) defeated Seekonk, 8-1. Marissa Kelly went 3-for-5 with two RBI, a run and a stolen base for the Lakers.
Taysia Lopes tripled twice and drove in four runs while striking out five in the circle as Upper Cape (13-5) clinched the Mayflower Athletic Conference title with a 20-4 victory over Old Colony. Rosie Neville tallied two hits and two RBI, and Jaelynn Harraden hit a two-RBI single.
Presley Arias (2-for-2, double, triple, walk, stolen base), Karilyn Perez-Guerrero (1-for-2, home run, two RBI, walk) and Luisne McCusker (2-for-2, home run, two runs, four RBI, two stolen bases) powered the offense for Cristo Rey/Cathedral in an 11-3 nonleague win over Randolph. … Mylee Ramer threw a complete game shutout, allowing three hits and three walks as Bishop Feehan beat Newton North, 4-0. Alex Souza (RBI), Caitlyn Deveney (RBI), Bella Silva and Maddie Coupal finished with two hits each for the Shamrocks.
Baseball
Jack Mangone (3-for-3, double, triple, home run, two RBI), Liam Powers (3-for-3, two doubles, triple, two RBI) and Nico Santonastaso (2-for-3, triple, RBI) fueled the offense for Mystic Valley in a 12-2 nonleague victory over Notre Dame Cristo Rey. … Will Webster’s grand slam and Will Zalosh’s two doubles backed four one-hit, shutout innings from Lincoln Loftus to power Wellesley (12-5) in an 11-0 win over Grafton in five innings.
Colin Ducie struck out 11 and did not walk anybody over five innings as Plymouth South bested Quincy 14-1 in Patriot League play.
Bryce Silva fanned eight and didn’t allow a run, dominating on the mound for North Attleboro in a 4-0 Hockomock League win over Foxboro.
Dyllon Pratt and Nate Galanis had two hits and two RBI each, while Will Trach allowed two hits over five shutout innings with three strikeouts as Shawsheen (17-0) defeated Greater Lowell 5-0 in the Commonwealth Athletic Conference.
Boys lacrosse

Seniors Karina Bosco and Olivia Thibert combined for nine goals and five assists as Dighton-Rehoboth (11-6) notched its first ever win over South Coast Conference foe Old Rochester, 13-11.

Volleyball
The Boston City League championship between O’Bryant and Latin Academy will take place next Thursday at Emmanuel College with a 4 p.m. start.
Logan Sam recorded 55 digs, while Vitou Seng supplied 39 assists as Lowell (15-2) defeated North Andover 3-1 in the Merrimack Valley Conference. … Liam Quinn posted 17 kills with four blocks, Ridty Tauch added 13 kills with 11 digs, and David Pham dished 35 assists to lead Chelmsford over Andover, 3-0.
Andrew Cox erupted for 22 kills around four blocks apiece from Elijah Jean and Adrian Blake (seven kills), leading Methuen in a 3-0 nonleague battle over Lincoln-Sudbury that finished with a 36-34 third set. … Jelisson Peguero and Janiel Vizcaino each posted 11 kills for Greater Lawrence in a 3-1 win over Dracut. … Nick Rosa erupted for 25 kills and Amir Salih Tavares added 21 kills, boosting New Bedford (15-2) in a 3-1 win over Greater New Bedford.
Boys track
Case captured the Div. 6 state track relay title with 78 points. Amesbury finished second with 65, followed by Carver (61), Dearborn STEM (45) and Hamilton-Wenham (39).
The Cardinals won the javelin with William Beliveau, Charles Lincoln. Austin Adduci combined for a throw of 116.15. They also won the long jump as Darrien King, Nolan Kenneally and Ayden Wild teamed up to post a 17.19.
Dearborn STEM put together a terrific effort as they captured three events. Terrance McGhee, Christian Swift, Sam Amara, Jacob Hernandez Mejia won the 1600M (3:45.92), Gabriel Soto, Christian Swift, Nasir Camille and Rick Barros captured the 4×200 (1:32.15) and Swift, Rick Barros, Sam Amara and Camille took home the 4×400 (3:29.37).
Girls track
In the Div. 6 state girls track relays at West Bridgewater, Carver (72) held off Amesbury (70) and Hamilton-Wenham (68) to claim the crown.
The Crusaders were strong in the field events as the trio of Maya Sepulveda, Shatavia Leonard, Julia Grimes won both the discus (77.95) and shot put (28.25). In the high jump, Josie Helms, Carly Peterson and Emma Wall combined for a 4.49.
Boys basketball
Braintree stayed within the Bay State Conference to hire its new boys hoop coach. The school announced the hiring of former Walpole girls basketball coach David Wall as its new coach, replacing Bob Crook, who retired following a Hall of Fame career. Wall spent the past 10 years there, posting an overall 142-69 record.
