The Boston area is in for more warm spring temperatures and a dry spell before more rain is expected to move in mid-week, according to National Weather Service forecasts.

“It’s pretty quiet weather, really early next week, Monday, Tuesday and probably into Wednesday as well,” said National Weather Service meteorologist Kevin Cadima. “We think it’ll likely stay dry right through Wednesday.”

The week is expected to kick off with a sunny, clear day Monday, with a high around 73 degrees and a light southwest wind blowing through, NWS forecasts show.

Some clouds may move in Tuesday becoming mostly cloudy on Wednesday day, forecasts state. Highs may dip slightly into the upper 60s Tuesday and Wednesday, Cadima said. Lows are forecasted to remain in the 50s throughout the first half of the week, NWS states.

“Then beyond that, it gets a little unsettled as we head towards the end of the week with increasing chance of showers,” said Cadima. “There’s a disturbance in the upper levels of the atmosphere that’s going to be moving through. That’s going to increase the chance of showers at times.”

A chance of showers is expected to kick in after 11 p.m. Wednesday night and continue into the next day Thursday, NWS forecasts show.

“It’s not going to be a washout,” Cadima said. “But there’ll be periods of showers possible Thursday and Friday.”

By Thursday, skies are expected to remain mostly cloudy as the high temperature remains in the low 70s, NWS forecasts state.

Friday the sun may emerge more again, with skies expected to be partially sunny before a chance of showers returns Friday night, forecasts show. The high temperature Friday is expected to reach the high 70s.

Over the weekend, more chances of rain and warmer temperatures with highs in the 70s are preliminarily forecasted to remain through both Saturday and Sunday, NWS predicts.
