AI generated ‘child pornography’ of female Dover-Sherborn Middle School students reported

Male students in Dover-Sherborn Middle School reportedly doctored disturbing AI-generated nudes of their female classmates in what one official called “child pornography,” according to a letter sent from a School Committee member to parents.

“On September 16th, 2024, eleven female DSMS students were informed that a group of male DSMS students had created explicit images of them using AI technology and were sharing them with lewd messages attached,” Dover-Sherborn School Committee member Colleen Burt wrote.

Though she has not seen the photos, Burt said, they have been called “child pornography” by an administrator and “disgusting” by a Dover police officer and school counselor.

In October 2024, Dover Police found in an investigation that four male Dover-Sherborn students had gathered about 350 photos of female students from the local middle and high school on Discord by secretly taking them, pulling from social media and other sources, Burt said.

Police found a second folder called “internet girls” with “headless, naked female bodies and body parts, with some bodies looking as if they were dead or being abused,” Burt said.

“Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing what else was done with these photos, but it is very concerning that one of the male students involved mentioned AI nudify technology in their interview with police,” Burt wrote.

The School Committee member warned parents there could be over 100 girls who are “unnamed victims in the case” as only about 20 girls have been notified. Parents who wish to know if their daughter was a victim, Burt said, may contact the Dover Police Department.

State Rep. Joshua Tarsky, whose district includes Dover, said he is “aware of the situation” and the Dover superintendent is expected to issue a statement “shortly” as of Wednesday morning.

Dover police are also aware and are issuing a statement shortly.

This is a developing story …
