Man charged in alleged Salem double murder
A man has been arrested and charged with murder after two bodies were found Wednesday in a wooded area behind a shopping area in Salem.
Jay Blodget, 30, has been arrested and charged in connection with the grisly crime.
Blodget is due for arraignment Thursday at Salem District Court, according to the Essex DA’s office.
The victims, both male, were discovered when a man walking his dog reported finding one body to police just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Responding officers discovered the second victim when they arrived. The bodies were located in an area of woods adjacent to the Walmart in Salem on Highland Avenue.
Officials would not release any further information about suspect or victims prior to Blodget’s arraignment, according to the DA.
