Lowertown Sounds announces nine free Mears Park summer concerts
The New Standards, Dr. Mambo’s Combo and Yam Haus are among the acts booked to play the free Lowertown Sounds concert series, which kicks off June 12 at St. Paul’s Mears Park.
The annual series, which runs from 6 to 10 p.m. most Thursdays through Aug. 14, features 20 local bands, more than half of which are first-time performers in the series.
Guests are welcome to bring blankets and chairs and enjoy food and drink from a rotating mix of food trucks and local craft beverage-makers, including HomeTown Creamery, Tot Boss, Que Tal Street Eats, El Burrito Mercado, Adam’s Gyros, Inferno Wood Fired Pizza, Gambit Brewing, Pryes Brewing and Alexis Bailly Vineyard.
The concert lineup includes:
June 12: Flamin’ Oh’s, Faith Boblett and Lonesome Dan Kase.
June 19: The New Standards and Tina Schlieske.
June 26: Dr. Mambo’s Combo and Purple Funk Metropolis.
July 10: Dan Rodriguez and Becky Kapell.
July 17: Annie and the Bang Bang and Maria and the Coins.
July 24: Turn Turn Turn and Molly Brandt.
July 31: Salsa del Soul and Alma Andina.
Aug. 7: Kiss the Tiger and Keep for Cheap.
Aug. 14: Yam Haus, the Thirsty River and Haley E Rydell.
