Gavin Desley (Win, five innings pitched, two hits, walk, six strikeouts) and RJ Delcourt (two innings pitched, two hits, walk, four strikeouts) pitched well, while Ben Ronda finished with two hits as Dennis-Yarmouth (5-1) downed Martha’s Vineyard 5-1 in the Cape and Islands League.

BOYS LACROSSE

Gavin Biggins netted six goals, and David Kane scored four goals as Rockland cruised to a 14-1 nonleague win over Stoughton.

In the Merrimack Valley Conference, senior midfielder Trey Kean registered an 11-point game (six goals, five assists) as North Andover (3-4) knocked off Chelmsford, 15-10.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Emily Keefe tallied eight goals and an assist as Bridgewater-Raynham (6-2) defeated Dighton-Rehoboth 13-6 in a nonleague contest. … Ciara Hendricks buried six goals and dished three assists, while Kia Cristo had a hat trick and an assist as Mashpee defeated Sturgis, 17-9.

Emily Picher and Liv Ronan notched hat tricks as Tewksbury won 11-8 over Dracut in the Merrimack Valley Conference.

SOFTBALL

Colleen McNamara (four hits, three runs) led a potent Methuen (3-2) offense, which tallied 18 hits and beat Billerica 14-9 in the Merrimack Valley Conference. Sam Chalupa singled, doubled twice and drove in four runs for the Rangers.

Emma Chevalier (3-for-3, double, five RBI, two runs), Brooke Braswell (3-for-5, four RBI, two runs), Mia Duncan (2-for-4, three runs, RBI) and McKenna Duncan (2-for-4, three RBI, two runs) paced Lynn Classical, which exploded offensively for a 13-run fifth inning and went on to defeat cross-town foe Lynn English 17-5 in the Greater Boston League.

Elizabeth McNaught pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts and two walks over five innings and had two hits as Whitman-Hanson took down Cohasset 12-0 in a nonleague game. Emilia Cooke hit a three-run double to bolster the Panthers offense as part of a seven-run second inning rally. … Karilyn Perez-Guerreri blasted two home runs for three RBI and scored four runs, while Anaya Bizcaino went 2-for-4, stole a base and scored two runs as Cristo Rey/Cathedral defeated Lynn Tech, 14-5.

Kayla Hanrahan struck out four and earned the win, while Teagan Bowler hit a triple and drove in four runs as Essex Tech defeated North Reading 8-2 in Cape Ann League play.

Kiley Hogan went 3-for-3 with a home run and two RBI offensively and allowed two hits while racking up 10 strikeouts over seven innings in the circle as Tyngsboro topped Lunenburg 6-0 in the Midland Wachusett League Division C.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Logan Uy starred on defense again with 56 digs, pairing with 45 assists from Vitou Seng and 30 combined kills from Aundre Rivera and Ian Mao to lead Lowell (8-1) to a 3-1 nonleague win over Greater Lowell.

BOYS BASKETBALL

David Brown resigned as St. Mary’s High School boys basketball coach after a 13-year run in which he guided the Spartans to a 248-65 record and a pair of state championships. Prior to his time at St. Mary’s, Brown spent 11 years at Winthrop where he compiled a 136-95 mark with a state title.

“I am grateful for the chance to coach at St. Mary’s the last 13 years,” Brown said in a statement released by the school. “I want to thank all my players, coaches and the community for all the support of our program. This has been a great ride and I’m proud to be going out on a high note.

“I knew this day would come eventually, because all great things come to an end. Thirteen years ago St. Mary’s was considered one of the best Division 4 programs in the state. I believe the program is now top 10 overall in the state and I wish the program nothing but great success going forward.”

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Former Boston Herald All-Scholastic Oluchi Okananwa of Peabody announced via her Twitter feed that she is transferring from Duke to Maryland. The 5-foot-10 guard averaged more than 10 points and five rebounds a game coming off the bench for the Blue Devils.

Okananwa spent her freshman year at Peabody where she earned Northeastern Conference MVP honors after averaging 16.7 points and 7.6 rebounds. She eventually finished her high school career at Worcester Academy.
