
Uruguay March 2025: Fiat (+44.9%) stays #1, BYD up 72.2% in market up 25.2%
Fiat is the most popular carmaker in Uruguay in March.
5,804 new cars hit Uruguayan roads in March, a splendid 25.2% year-on-year improvement. The Q1 tally is up 14.8% to 15,477 units. Fiat (+44.9%) vastly outpaces the market and lodges a third consecutive month in pole position at 14.8% share. Leader over the Full Year 2024, Chevrolet (+8.1%) is stuck in 2nd place this year. Suzuki (+45.6%) advances two spots on February to #3, distancing Renault (+4.8%) and Hyundai (+35.5%). BYD sports another terrific performance at +72.2% year-on-year but drops from a record third place and 10% share last month to #6 and 7.9%. The Chinese carmaker ranks #4 with 8.2% share year-to-date (+150.5%). Chery (+181%) and Volkswagen (+40%) also impress in the remainder of the Top 10. Newcomer Omoda is up 16 ranks on last month to #15 while GWM (+387.5%), Geely (+178.3%) and JAC (+92%) stand out further down.
