Boston Marathon events: What’s happening when

As the Boston Marathon approaches, here’s the activities and events planned around the annual city tradition.

Friday:

Boston Fan Fest: The event begins at City Hall Plaza at 3 p.m. and last through 8 p.m., featuring live music, activities, food trucks and more.

Bank of America Boston Marathon Expo: The expo open to participants, friends and fans begins at 10 a.m. and last through 7 p.m. at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center.

Saturday:

One Boston Day – Franklin Park Neighborhood Cleanup: The organization set up in remembrance of the Boston Marathon Bombings will conduct a cleanup from 8:45 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Pierpont Road.

Boston Fan Fest: The fest resumes at 10 a.m. with yoga at City Hall Plaza and lasts until 8 p.m. with more live music performances, food and appearance from marathon athletes.

Bank of America Boston Marathon Expo: The expo open to participants, friends and fans begins at 9 a.m. and last through 7 p.m. at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center.

B.A.A. Invitational Mile: The race will begin at Boylston Street, turn left on Dartmouth Street, left on Newbury Street, and left on Exeter Street and back to Boylston for three laps.

B.A.A. 5K: The race will start at 8 a.m. at Boylston Street off the Boston Common Public Garden near the intersection of Arlington Street and finish near the Boston Public Library and Old South Church.

B.A.A. Relay Challenge: The relay race will run along Boylston Street.

Sunday:

Boston Fan Fest: The fest resumes at 11 a.m. at City Hall Plaza and lasts until 6 p.m. with more live music performances, food and appearance from marathon athletes.

Bank of America Boston Marathon Expo: The expo open to participants, friends and fans begins at 9 a.m. and last through 6 p.m. at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center.

Monday:

One Boston Day – Marathon Monday Blood Drive: The blood drive will last from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Kenmore Square.

Boston Marathon: The marathon will begin at 9 a.m. in Hopkinton and end at the famed Boston finish line in Back Bay.

Mile 27 Post-Race Party presented by Samuel Adams: A post-race party will take place from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. at City Hall Plaza.
