Coachella 2025 is officially underway. The music and arts festival made its return to the Empire Polo Club in Indio on Friday, April 11.

The three-day festival is bringing together a variety of performers including headliners Lady Gaga, Green Day and Post Malone.

Over the past decade, Coachella has become more than just a music and arts festival. The event has become a spectacle online of fans refreshing social media to see the latest fashion trends, which celebrities are attending and who will be surprising fans on stage for a performance.

Here are some Coachella highlights so far, as we continue to share updates throughout the weekend. We’ll also be on the ground at the festival and sharing the most noteworthy moments on social media all weekend long on our Twitter, Instagram, Threads, TikTok and YouTube.

Pre-Festival – Thursday, April 10

One of the ways attendees know they’re nearing the festival grounds is by spotting the various billboards along the freeway for artists featured on the Coachella lineup. This year’s billboards included Charli xcx, Lady Gaga and Post Malone.

For many, part of the Coachella experience is camping on the grounds. Attendees begin arriving Thursday to set up their home base for the next few days. Some sleep in their cars and RVs while others set up tents. Additionally, some activities happen exclusively on the campgrounds, such as games, crafts, temporary tattoos, and performances, including a DJ set from Chris Lake.

Day One – Friday, April 11

The festival kicked off on day one, hot, hot, hot! Both figuratively and literally, with a high of 101°. Yo Gabba Gabba! made an early appearance in front of the Spectra art installation, where fans lined up to meet the star of the popular show.

This year’s festival also featured some new art installations, including “Le Grand Bouquet” by UCHRONIA.

There were several memorable performances and sets during the first day of Coachella 2025. During the Go-Go’s performance on the Outdoor Theatre Stage, they brought out Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong to perform “Head Over Heels.” Benson Boone also brought out a surprise guest during his debut Coachella performance. While covering Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody,” the singer brought out guitarist Brian May.

Day Two – Friday, April 12

Day two brought the rock with Green Day as the headliner act. Other highlights include brat summer making its way to the Coachella main stage with Charli XCX’s performance, Trixie Mattel’s DJ set at the Do LaB and Gustavo Dudamel & LA Phil’s Outdoor Theatre performance that was filled with surprise guests.

Additionally, Yo Gabba Gabba! brought the energy to the Mojave tent, with surprise guests including Flavor Flav, Weird Al, Paul Williams and Portugal. the Man, plus some iconic mascots such as the Duolingo bird and Bailey the Lion from the LA Kings.

Before Clairo took the stage for her performance at the Outdoor Theatre, to the surprise of the crowd, Rep. Maxwell Frost introduced Sen. Bernie Sanders. Sanders proceeded to give a nearly five minute speech where he sneered the billionaire class, climate inaction, the war in Gaza, and President Trump. The surprise guest appearance was a short detour from the “Fight Oligarchy” rally held earlier that day in Los Angeles. The joint rally with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is part of a tour that’s made its way across the country.

Day two was also Record Store Day, so we visited the Record Safari Store on the festival grounds.

Night two ended with Travis Scott on the Coachella stage.

Day Three – Saturday, April 13

The final day of weekend one was the coolest temperature-wise, with a high of a casual 96°. Some early acts our team caught included Bob Vylan at the Sonora tent and Meute at the Outdoor Theatre.

Surprise guest appearances throughout the day included Shaboozey bringing out Noah Cyrus, JENNIE bringing out Kali Uchis and Zedd bringing out John Mayer. Day three concluded with Post Malone’s headlining performance on the main stage.
