Boston weather: More rainy days, warmer weather incoming
Boston is in for another round of April showers throughout the next week, along with some warmer springtime days, according to National Weather Service forecasts.
“We’ll get off to a warm start (Monday),” said National Weather Service meteorologist Rob Megnia. “Looks like a really nice day, sunny with highs in the mid- to upper 60s if you’re across in the interior, but it might be closer to the upper 50s, low 60s if you’re near to the coast. There will probably be a sea breeze in the afternoon.”
The week will likely see a couple possible rainy days, NWS forecasts show, beginning Monday night heading into Tuesday.
Tuesday is expected to see a slight dip in temperatures but remain “somewhat mild,” Megnia said, with a forecasted high of 64 degrees. Rain is likely, mainly after 4 p.m., forecasts show.
“If you are west of I-95 or 495, there could be a rumble of thunder and maybe some graupel, which is like very tiny, small hail, nothing severe though,” said Megnia. “And then a cold front comes through Tuesday night, and we drop down to cooler windy conditions on Wednesday.”
Highs on Wednesday and Thursday are expected to remain in the low to mid-50s, with lows in the upper 30s, NWS forecasts state. Thursday is expected to see more sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures, Megnia said.
Both days are expected to be hit with northwest winds and gusts up to the 25 to 30 mile per hour range, forecasts show.
“Then it looks like we’ll end the week on a high note, kind of similar to what we’re expecting (Monday),” said Megnia. “Temperatures in the low 60s near the coast, maybe mid-60s across the interior, with a good amount of sunshine and lighter winds.
