Baseball

Brody Beale and John Nichols combined for six hits and seven RBI as BC High rolled past Xaverian 13-3 in the Catholic Conference. … Josh Bouchard homered twice and drove in six runs to lead St. John’s (Shrewsbury) to a 16-0 win over Catholic Memorial.

In the Catholic Central League, Matt Burt had three hits while knocking in three and scoring two more runs as Bishop Stang (4-0) took down Bishop Feehan, 13-6.

Matt Nardone drove in a pair and Danny Kenney struck out six over five strong as Plymouth North took down Patriot League opponent Silver Lake 9-2.

Boys lacrosse

In the Bay State Conference, Garoid Stones and Owen Murphy scored four times each as Braintree edged Weymouth, 10-9.

Lee Spry led a balanced attack with three goals as Abington defeated Oliver Ames 13-6 in a nonleague contest.

In the Dual County League, Will Cronin scored eight times with two assists as Acton-Boxboro (3-1) rolled over Waltham 18-5.

Colin Driscoll erupted for six goals and an assist and Colten Russo (four points, three assists) also posted seven points to fuel Masconomet in a 14-8 Northeastern Conference win over Danvers.

Girls lacrosse

In a Bay State Conference matchup, Mira Flaherty finished with seven points, six draw controls, three caused turnovers, and five ground balls as Weymouth defeated Braintree 13-10.

Julia Kipperman notched 10 goals as Nauset came up with a 20-9 win over Dennis-Yarmouth in a Cape and Islands meeting.

In the Merrimack Valley Conference, Ava Boucher netted four goals to lead Chelmsford to a 13-3 victory over Billerica. … Elizabeth Descheneaux scored seven goals while Kiera Fitzpatrick added six goals and three assists to lead Methuen to a 25-7 victory over Lowell.

In a Northeastern Conference matchup, Avery Laundry finished with four goals and an assist while Cecelia Tripp and Quinn Kelleher both added three goals to lead Swampscott (4-0) past Winthrop, 17-2. … Joseyln Silva had four tallies and an assist as Beverly topped Marblehead 9-7. Madeline Reynolds had eight saves, including the 400th of her career for the Panthers.

Kyle Darmon scored five times as Sandwich (3-0) defeated Rockland 16-2 in the South Shore League.

Softball

Karilyn Perez-Guerreri and Luisne McCusker both finished 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI and three runs scored to lead Cathedral/Cristo Rey to a 16-7 victory over Roxbury Prep.

In the South Shore League, Taryn Clancy struck out 13 over six innings as Middleboro outslugged Sandwich 14-2. … Maggie Schlossberg struck out 12, while Riley Egan and Maddie Blette each drove in five runs as East Bridgewater rolled to a 19-5 win over Norwell.

Boys volleyball

Finn Bell posted 15 kills, Dylan Engelhardt added 10 kills with two blocks, and Zach O’Donnell dished 30 assists as Wayland (3-3) defeated Acton-Boxboro, 3-0, in Dual County League action.

Rhandall Cartagena notched 20 digs and Joel De La Rosa struck for 10 kills, leading Greater Lawrence over Commonwealth Athletic Conference foe Innovation Academy, 3-0.

Six different players posted at least four kills in a well-balanced attack, though Ale Luciani’s 13 kills anchored Lexington (5-1) in a 3-0 Middlesex League win over Wakefield for the Minutemen’s fifth straight win.

Football

The third annual A Shot For Life Bowl will take place at St. Sebastian’s School this Sunday from 12-6 p.m. at St. Sebastian’s in Needham.

A Shot For Life Football is a talent-based ASFL event, joining sibling events in basketball, field

hockey, baseball, softball, hockey, lacrosse, soccer, and football. These initiatives are a hybrid

between a fundraiser and a competitive athletic event. Each of the athletes is representing the  organization on and off the field, and character is equally important to talent in the selection process.
