‘Wild weather week:’ Boston to see snowy, windy days within coming week
Boston is kicking off a “roller coaster ride of a weather week,” with snow fall predicted to kick off Monday and strong winds keeping things chilly through mid-week before temperatures climb back up before the weekend, a National Weather Service forecaster said.
“It looks like a wild weather week for Boston,” said NWS meteorologist Kyle Pederson. “We’re gonna be waking up to some rain, maybe even some snow flurries mixing in (Monday) morning. Not expecting any snow to accumulate tomorrow, and the only issue for the morning is going to be wet roadways; we shouldn’t see any slippery roads (Monday).”
Monday is expected to see a colder high in the low 40s, with the possible snowfall predicted to transfer into all rain around 9 a.m., NWS forecasts. The precipitation will likely continue through Monday night into early Tuesday, the forecasts show.
Some snow in April is “not that unusual,” the meteorologist added, serving as a “reminder that all winter weather is not quite over.”
Tuesday and Wednesday will “get chilly,” Pederson said, with highs in the low to mid-40s and lows in the high 20s to low 30s.
“But it’s not going to feel like that, because it’s going to be a little bit blustery, a little bit windy out there,” Pederson said. “So it’s going to feel like it’s going to be in the mid 30s on Tuesday, and then again on Wednesday. Mid-30s again for that feels-like, wind chill temperature.”
Skies should clear up to be mostly sunny on Wednesday, heading into the late week, NWS forecasts show.
“Then Thursday, it warms up again, looking at a high of 52,” Pederson said. “But we’re gonna bring back in some of that cloud cover and like wet weather, especially as we head into Friday.”
