Croatia March 2025: Renault (+27.9%) and Clio (+35.6%) at highest in five years

The Renault Clio is a distant leader in the models charts in March.

6,265 new cars hit Croatian roads in March, a tiny 0.1% year-on-year improvement. The Q1 tally is off -1.6% to 14,965. Renault is the performer of the month with sales up 27.9% to a stellar 14.4% share, its highest since June 2020 (16.1%) and to be compared with 8.9% over Q1. This is the carmaker’s first podium finish since April 2024 and first win since March 2024. The Top 5 brands all outpace the market with solid gains. Skoda (+14%) drops one spot on February to #2 and is followed  by Volkswagen (+5.9%), Suzuki (+11.3%) and Dacia (+7.4%). Toyota (-18%) is in deep trouble at #6, as are Kia (-27.6%), BMW (-26.5%) and Hyundai (-21.4%). Geely (+531.3%), Cupra (+73.3%) and Mazda (+17.9%) stand out below.

Model-wise, the Renault Clio (+35.6%) jumps from outside the February Top 20 directly into pole position with 8.2% share, the nameplate’s highest since June 2020. The Skoda Octavia (-12.5%) repeats in 2nd place and snaps the YTD top spot off the Suzuki Vitara (-0.4%) down to #6 for the month. The VW T-Cross (+59.6%), Renault Captur (+56.5%) and Dacia Duster (+53.7%) all post tremendous lifts in the remainder of the Top 20. Notice also the Suzuki Swift (+101.9%), Skoda Kodiaq (+95.1%), Opel Corsa (+94%) and VW Tiguan (+77.8%).
