Nick Deleon dropped 35 points with six three-pointers as Gloucester defeated Northeastern Conference opponent Beverly 57-48. … Jacob Klass had 21 points and Ehoize Okhuazagabon had a double-double with 11 points and 17 rebounds as Beverly (11-5) cruised over Swampscott 73-49.
Patrick Jackson (18 points), Ben Tondorf (17 points), and Tyrin MacDonald (11 points) led South Shore Tech to a 65-39 victory over Norfolk Aggie, in a Mayflower Athletic Conference matchup.
In the Greater Boston League, Rolky Brea Arias finished with 15 points and 16 rebounds and Deshawn Rucker added 14 points as Lynn Classical toppled Somerville 63-43.
Finn Bjork dominated with 26 points and 13 boards as Somerset Berkley cruised to an 84-52 victory over South Coast Conference opponent Dighton-Rehoboth.
In the Boston City League, Yassine Amghar led the way with 21 points and Ian Piper notched a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds as Holland defeated Fenway 73-57.
In nonleague action, Nate Reynolds collected 25 points and 19 rebounds while Mike Dankert added 20 points and five assists as Bourne (12-1) cruised over Nantucket 91-63. … Senior Ido Geffen notched 22 points as Wayland won 65-41 over Collegiate Charter of Lowell. … Ethan Day scored 17 points as Tewksbury rolled over Revere 72-52.
Girls basketball
Jayden Starr dropped 20 points with seven boards as Beverly defeated Northeastern Conference opponent Swampscott 41-30.
Maddy Steel stole the ball and knocked down a triple less than a second left as Bishop Feehan (14-1) edged Worcester South 47-44 in nonleague play. … Senior Brenna Woodbury scored 12 points while collecting six rebounds, four assists and four steals as Bridgewater-Raynham (7-7) topped Westwood 39-37.
Softball
Whitman-Hanson named Maegan Amsler as the new head coach of the varsity softball program. Amsler distinguished herself as an exceptional three-sport athlete at Hanover High School, earning three All-Scholastic selections, three All-Star honors, and was named both MVP of the League and Player of the Year.
In addition to softball, she was a three-year varsity field hockey player, earning two All-Star selections, All-Scholastic honors, and recognition as one of the top 60 players in the state. She also played varsity basketball, where she received the sportsmanship award.
